Farm sheds for sale

Steel portal frame sheds for hay, machinery, grain and livestock, supplied as a frame and cladding package or fully erected. Send us your sizes and we'll get prices from UK suppliers.

Supply only or supply and erect

Many farmers buy the frame, purlins, cladding and fixings from a fabricator and use their own team or a local erector. Others want one firm to handle design, foundations and erection. Prices aren't comparable unless you know which you're getting, so tell us on the form.

Sizes suppliers will ask for

  • Span: clear width between the columns
  • Length and number of bays
  • Eaves height: enough to clear a loaded trailer or telehandler
  • Roof pitch and any lean-to
  • Cladding: box profile, fibre cement or Yorkshire boarding

Second-hand and kit farm buildings

Used steel frames come up for sale, but check the frame was designed for the loads and site exposure where you'll put it up, and that you can get calculations. A new frame designed to BS 5502 is the safer route for most buildings.

Not sure about planning? Larger holdings in England can often use a prior notification. Our sister site has a guide to planning for agricultural buildings.

Questions

Why do farm shed prices vary so much?

Steel weight, cladding choice, concrete work and delivery distance. Two quotes for the same span and length can differ because one includes foundations and erection and the other doesn't.

Can you find suppliers in Northern Ireland and Scotland?

Yes. We look for suppliers who deliver and erect in your area anywhere in the UK.
